Vice President for Administration & Finance

        Valerie D. Hill obtained her BBA in 1988 and MBA in 1996 both in the field of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and Texas State University, respectively. She has a certificate of completion for the Governor's Executive Development Program from the LBJ School of Public Affairs and certificates in Management of Nonprofit Organizations and Fundraising Management both from the University of Texas at Austin.

Mrs. Hill's areas of expertise include Business / Financial Management, Contracts and Grants, Program Evaluation / Performance Measures and Legislation and Policy Analysis. She has 13 years of managment experience with the Texas State Auditor's Office as both a Project and Division Manager and experience as a Staff / Senior auditor with the same state agency. Noteably, Mrs. Hill was the first African American to hold the position of Audit Division Manager in the history of the Texas State Auditor's Office. In addition, Mrs. Hill was employed with the Department of Defense as an Auditor in the Office of Internal Review and Compliance at Fort Bliss.

Valerie Hill is the founder of a teenage mentor program designed to build character and confidence in young women through community service, educational workshops and cultural and social events. She is an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a wife and mother of twins.
